I thought it would be best to close the year with a reflective blog post. What a year it has been. I know for me and you, it has been one where you were faced with challenges you weren’t ready for and achievements you never expected.
This year has been interesting because all events I came across were new experiences. I formed new relationships, I moved to a new environment, I did something new to my hair, I followed a different routine. And all these big and small events have made my year quite interesting. My achievements made me understand myself better in a way I can weaken my shortcomings and strengthen my ‘goodies’. They made me realize my flaws and appreciate my gifts. The challenges I faced tested my endurance and made me understand how I should react in the face of a crisis or dilemma.
The norms of every new year include: ‘’crossing the year’’ with whatever may seem important in your life, having a list of new year resolutions, people resuming work and school, and starting off the year being broke with a wish for the holiday season to repeat itself. We carry sober but hangovered minds into the new year as we reminisce the memories of the previous one. You realize that you haven’t moved on from last year when you fill in that year's date on your notebook. These things bring smiles to our faces as we appreciate the year we had just closed.
Be thankful for this year, for all that has happened and that has failed to. You never know what’s kept in store for you on the other side when you count down the final seconds into the new year.
I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year RAIRgems.
